What types of film do you digitise?
My primary focus is on 35mm film strips and slides. By specialising in these formats, I can use dedicated, professional grade optical equipment to guarantee the highest quality resolution (up to 7200 dpi) and true to life colours. How do I safely get my film to you?
If you are located in Sydney, we can arrange a secure, in person drop off. For clients anywhere else in Australia, I highly recommend sending your film via tracked, registered Australia Post. Once your scanning is complete, I will carefully repackage your original film. You can choose your preferred return method such as in person collection or secure postage when filling out the custom quote request form.
Who actually handles my family archives?
I do. When you book with me, your irreplaceable memories are never outsourced, sent overseas, or run through an automated, big box assembly line. As a professional photographer, I personally oversee the handling, scanning, colour correction, and dust removal for every single frame to ensure it meets my own strict standards.
How much does the service cost?
Because every archive is different ranging from a few cherished slides to decades of family film rolls I provide custom quotes rather than rigid packages. How will I receive my digital photos?
Once your restoration is complete, I will provide you with a private, secure download link to your digital gallery. You will receive high resolution, print ready files that are perfect for sharing with family, saving to your phone, or printing out for your walls.
How long does the whole process take?
Turnaround times depend on the size of your collection. I focus on premium, gallery quality results using manual colour correction and infrared dust removal, so I don’t rush the process. Once you submit your quote request above, I will provide you with a clear and accurate timeline for your specific project
What happens if my film is damaged, mouldy, or faded?
Over time, film naturally degrades and fades. My standard digitising process includes manual colour correction to restore true to life tones, as well as infrared dust and scratch removal. However, if your film has severe physical damage, extensive mould, or deep gouges, the standard scanning process may have limitations. If I notice significant condition issues with your collection once it arrives, I will reach out to discuss your options before proceeding.
Are my digital files kept private?
Absolutely. I understand that you are trusting me with your highly personal family memories. Your digital gallery will be completely private, secure, and shared only with you. I will never use your digitised family photos for my photography portfolio, social media, or marketing without your explicit written permission.
What file formats will I receive?
By default, I provide high resolution, print ready JPEG files. These are universally compatible, making them perfect for sharing with family, viewing on your devices, or sending to a print lab. If you are a photography enthusiast looking to do your own extensive editing, I can also provide uncompressed TIFF files upon request just let me know in the details box of your quote request!
How should I prepare and count my collection before sending it?
For the quote form, a rough estimate of your slide or film strip count is perfectly fine I will do a final count before starting the work. You don’t need to remove slides from their carousels or original boxes. Simply group them logically, place any loose negatives in protective sleeves or ziplock bags, and ensure they are packed securely in a sturdy box with bubble wrap or padding to prevent movement during transit.
